Waiting for Spring...... training

I miss the competition;
the strategy;
the dirt and spit;
the 0-2 curve ball;
the unwritten rules;
the team.
I miss the sounds;
the smell of a glove;
the 6-4-3 double play;
the delayed steal;
giving signals;
the walk off home run.
I miss the sound of metal cleats on concrete;
sunflower seeds;
fungos;
raised seams;
chalk;
dragging the field.
I miss it...the pastoral universe of the game.
